Advancement in technology has played a vital role in the ways business is conducted. This week we learnt about Networks and its benefits to all of us in our day to day life. We also studied different technologies used in several aspects of business in order to improve customer experience and sales. e.g - Barcodes and RFID.
We mainly focused on the Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) and its uses in different sectors of business. RFID technology is used successfully in Healthcare, Food Industry, Libraries, Travel Industry, Departmental Stores, Designer outlets, etc. We had a look at few interesting videos on YouTube giving us an idea about the successful implementation of RFID technology in Retail sector. The case study shown in the video explained how the use of RFID technology affected the daily processes within the business. It also described the necessary changes they had to make in the business structure in order to implement new technology for better customer experience- such as staff training, changes in supply chain, changes in business policies, etc.
Overall, in this week we learnt about the approaches and challenges to implement RFID technology in the business.
